Sardinia on a Plate at Aroma Restaurants. Only in May!
The murmur of the endless sea, the scent of rosemary, the hot wind, and the taste of freedom. That is Sardinia!
An island that lives and breathes its fantastic traditional cuisine is now arriving directly at the tables of Aroma restaurants.
For May, our chefs have prepared a special menu inspired by authentic Sardinian gastronomy.
The Uniqueness of Sardinian Cuisine
Sardinian dishes are simple yet full of flavor. They use local ingredients like fresh pecorino cheese, olive oil, wild herbs, and of course, fish and seafood.
Pane carasau, the famous Sardinian bread, is extremely thin and crispy, often used as a base for other dishes such as pane guttiau, baked bread drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with salt. This bread is an excellent accompaniment to antipasti.
If you love cheese, Sardinia will not disappoint you. The special pecorino sardo (sheep’s milk cheese) is typical for Sardinia and comes in different varieties, from mild and fresh to strongly aged versions perfect for grating.
What Awaits You on the Sardinian Menu at Aroma Restaurants:
ANTIPASTI – Sarde Fritte
Fried sardines with dill mayonnaise and Sardinian pane carasau bread.
Sardines, a favorite in Sardinia, are traditionally prepared in many ways. The crispy pane carasau, nicknamed "sheet music paper," is as thin as a sheet of paper (3 mm) and was once a staple for shepherds on long journeys.
PASTA – Culurgiones
Handmade ravioli filled with potatoes, pecorino sardo, and mint, topped with tomato sauce.
Culurgiones are one of Sardinia's typical dishes, originating from the Campidano region. The delicate dough pairs beautifully with the sheep’s milk pecorino, while the mint adds a refreshing touch.
CARNE – Braciole di Maiale
Suckling pig chops with a croquette made from pork cheeks, potato purée, young spinach, pickled ginger, and garlic sauce.
Meat lovers will be in seventh heaven! In Sardinia, roasted suckling pig is a symbol of festive feasts—it is slow-cooked over wood and aromatically infused with myrtle and juniper.
Sardinians often prepare suckling pig or lamb, roasted or grilled with fragrant herbs.
It Wouldn’t Be Italy Without Pizza
Pizza with mozzarella, tomatoes, spicy salami, olives, and Sardinian pecorino.
Who doesn’t love pizza? This variation is special thanks to Sardinian pecorino, which gives it a distinctive character.
What to Pour Into Your Glass?
To complete your experience, we recommend pairing your meal with Vermentino Primo Bianco, Mesa, Sardegna DOC.
It’s fresh, fruity, with a subtle mineral line that perfectly complements fish, pasta, and meat dishes.
